Constitutional amendment to sell off liquor stores would pass: poll

A recent poll suggests a constitutional amendment asking voters if they want the state to get out of the retail wine and spirits business has a strong chance of passing.

The poll released on Thursday by the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States surveyed 600 voters statewide and found 64% indicated they favored or strongly favored a constitutional amendment that would end government retail sales of wine and spirits. Thirty-one percent opposed it.
