Pa. Senate passes bill requiring government agencies to publicize their agendas

Pennsylvania is home to 4,831 local government agencies.

Under state law, all of them – municipal bodies, county governments, school boards and more – must deliberate on important agency decisions in publicly accessible meetings. But these agencies were not required to disclose what exactly they were making decisions about in their meetings, meaning that interested residents and journalists might not find out about a discussion or vote on a topic until after it took place.
